[Fixed] [REQ:] Show embedded thum. acc. their EXIF orientat

Post by Lesmo16 »

Using the embedded thumbnails is a very fine feature and should drastically decrease loading time! :D

But please, it should be possible to show these embedded thumbnails according to their EXIF orientation flag.
I think that is a very important feature, and would highly improve xnView.

BTW: The normal thumbnails (not embedded) may correctly orientated too.

In the options dialog, category "Read", there's the option "Rotate images based on EXIF rotation". This works very well for JPG images, not sure whether it also works for the the embedded JPG thumbnails.

Yes, that's right for the preview image.
But it doesn't work neither for embedded nor for normal thumbnails. :(

Have you try this out in 1.80? In 1.80, not only the preview and view is rotated automatically, but also the thumbnails. For automatically rotated images a special symbol appears next to the thumbnail so that the user knows.

In this thread we're talking about nothing other.

Good to hear. :-)

Does it work for both normal and embedded thumbnails or for normal thumbnails, only?

So there is no problem?
Can I move this topic to "Solved Bugs..." forum?

Rotate embedded thumbnails according to their EXIF orientation flag
- SOLVED
