I installed the Zip Addon, expecting I would be able to view images within Zip files, but XnView doesn't recognize Zip files. There is no "Browse with XnView" item in Explorer's right-click menu when I click on a *.zip file (I also expected that) and when I right-click a *.zip file in XnView and click "Properties", the type of the file is listed as "Unknown".
So, what does the zip addon do, and how (or, what did I do wrong)?

Zip addon - how does it work?

Re: Zip addon - how does it work?
OK, to answer myself and to rephrase the question. Zip addon obviously has a sole purpose of *packing*, not browsing the contents of an archive or viewing the images within an archive. Too bad. Acdsee has had that feature for a long time now. Since I'm new to XnView, I have to ask:
is there such a feature in XnView that I have somehow missed or not?

Re: Zip addon - how does it work?
I must have been blind when I looked at the Addon page on XnView site...
I installed the addon, but it took some fiddling with program options to make it work. I had to go to Options > General > Keyboard/Mouse > Open action (Browser) > Archives and set it to "Open in XnView". Also, I am not really thrilled with the way this addon works. I'd like it to show archives in the same way it shows unopened folders, without having to explicitly "open" the archive. Also, I would like to be able to go from one image to the next when I'm in the archive just like I do in ordinary folders. Still, it's better than having to do without it.
You could consider this as a "wish list" for a new version of XnView...
Thanks for the help

I have exact same wish very well descibed by lontche
In addition to description, the practical reason for such feature is: comic books very mostly distributed within zip archive,
there are comic viewer software on web fitting such goal, but I like using my favorite image viewer XNview .
with other words: browsing with xnview explorer, doubleclicking a zip archive, double clicking one of picture inside (viewer mode) and look rest with page down --> will be great
