I am having a problem similar to the one Videopoli asked about earlier, only my problem is with viewing SOME .wmv video files. Some I can view OK but with others, Iclick on the thumbnail and nothing happens.
I tried to download the MediaInfo file that was mentioned inthe earlier thread, but I couldnt get that to give me any useful info about the .wmv fiies I cant see.
Is there any general site that supplies the proper encoders for all sorts of wmv files, or do I need to perhaps download something from MSFT to allow all the .wmv files to be seen. I am not a real "techie" at understanding codecs, encoding or downloading plug-ins... so please bear with me.
BTW, I just downloaded the newest XnVIew version, 1.92.2 and that did not solve the problem.
Thanks for any help !!
PS: Otherwise, I find XnView to be a GREAT Program!

Re: Problem viewing .wmv files
OK, I now have some idea why the .wmv files arent showing.
They have some sort of encryption done by VIDLOCK. This is evidently a DRM type system used by some websites to control redistribution of videos.
Is there any way that I can allow XnView to view .wmv files encrypted by VIDLOCK?
Thanks much
