Hi,
When installing XnView in my new computer with Vista Home Premium, I used the latest version, 1.96.2. It all looked fine until I created a web page where I included the IPTC:Caption field for each picture. The national characters (Swedish in my case) in the IPTC:Caption field were not correctly coded in the generated .html pages although they were correctly displayed e.g. in the Image Properties window or the Edit IPTC Data window of XnView. What could be the problem?
I have now reverted back to my previous version of XnView, 1.90.2, where this problem does not occur.

Re: 1.96: Creating web page with national caracters in IPTC
Hi,
I have created two web pages, one with XnView 1.90.2 with correct coding of Swedish characters and one with XnView 1.96.2 with incorrect coding of Swedish characters. As you can see, the characters are correctly displayed in the IPTC Caption field of the original image but incorrectly coded in the html-pages of XnView 1.96.2.
The two web pages have the following URLs respectively:
www.edgars.se/xnview_1_90_2/thumb.html
www.edgars.se/xnview_1_96_2/thumb.html
I hope that this will help.

Is it possible to have the original picture used?
Pierre.

Thanks, xnview, for your help
I was using web templates from XnView 1.90.2 with charset=iso-8859-1 instead of charset=utf-8 used by XnView 1.96.2. With the templates that come with 1.96.2 it the character coding seems to be OK.
