Help. Rotated Photos Not Rotated

Have a bit of a problem. When I view my photos in XnView they are all in the correct orientation but when I burn them to CD or just view them in the folder many are NOT rotated. How is this happening?

Are you comparing miniature images between programs? This is always a puzzle because a typical file manager doesn't use as much data as the viewer (like orientation flags and built-in thumbnails). The article below mentions several options, and more recently an "edit metadata" function has been added to remove such info (as it is superfluous for some).
