Slide show stops after displaying a Video

Post by adi2123 »

Hello,
I'm creating a Diashow of .jpg picture with some additional small Videos included. The Diasshow does run very well until the first Video is displayed. When the first Video is fully displayed then the Diashow does not continue with the next picture. It just hangs. This does happen with any video player. I tested Windows Media played and VLC player.

Any idea???

regards
Adolf

No, I'm not using a external video player.

When viewing a Video on your PC you need to have a player (piece of software) installed on your PC which is able to read this Video file (*.avi files). The normal player most user using is the Window Media Player. Another player for example is the freeware VLC player.

When you are displaying a Diashow which does include pictures (*.jpg) and Video files (e.g. *.avi) then such a player is used to display the Video file. And displaying the Video does work fine, but when the Video is finished, the Diashow should automatically continue with the next picture from the Diashow. And that's the problem. The show does stop at the end of the displayed Video. The Video screen isn't closed. The show just stops.

To reproduce the problem put some *.jpg into a directory, add a *.avi Video file between those pictures in the directory and run the Diashow. The show will stop after displaying the Video.

Hope this does explain the problem in more detail.

But the internal player of xnview doesn't depend of external player...
I have no problem with video. It's not an EXE slideshow?

Thank you for your reply.

No it's not a .EXE show. But I was able to fix the issue. I had changed the slide control (jump to the next picture) to Keyboard/Mouse. But using the Mouse right click I only was able to jump to the next picture when a picture was just displayed. When a Video was displayed then I was not able to jump to the next picture using the mouse right click. Using the keyboard was OK. Page-Dn did select the next picture what ever was displayed.

The fix was in the Slideshow Advanced Options. Activating NAVIGATION WITH MOUSE (or something like this, I'm using the German template) did solve my problem. Now I'm able to jump forward and backward in a slideshow moving the mouse.

Anyway, THANK you for your help!!
