order of processing?

Post by BabaG »

i'm curious about three commands: eedge, edetail, and sharpen. more generally, i'm interested
in the order of processing for commands in nconvert.

if i do a crop and resize of a batch of images, does it matter where i put the commands i've
listed above? for example, if i take an image of, say 320x240 and resize it up to 3200x2400.
does it matter whether i use eedge, edetail, and sharpen before i resize or after? or would
placing them BEFORE the resize have a greater impact on the image because it is smaller at
that time? is this true for all commands like these, such as smoothing?

thanks,
BabaG

It's better to use resize as first operation
