Pierre ,
I have a question on how to use the "Edit GPS" option in XnVIEW 1.97.1
I allready installed the exiftool.exe program in the add-on directory,
but all I get is an option to open to "open GPS location in Geohack" which works OK,
but this gives me no option to edit the location (or add a location when no GPS data is present).
Am I missing something here ?
René

Oops66,
I was aware of this French post,
still I cannot find an option to "Edit GPS data"
just an option to show the data in Google maps .
Can you check whether this option is available on your system ?

Into the XnView 1.97b1 Browser mode menu, select a jpg ... then : Edit\Metadata\Edit GPS... ?
Do you have this menu?
I have no option to show the data in Google maps here, but a menu "Open GPS Location in GeoHack"
Here it works with Windows XP sp2, but I have found a bug if jpg files contain a (or some) space in the name (then the file is deleted)
(and do not work here into Ubuntu + Wine)
Bug reported here:

not even grayed out .
If my French is right, then I assume the exiftool(-k).exe file is to be renamed into
exiftool.exe and placed in the XnVIEW's Add-on directory.
The OS I use is windows-7 64-bit, may be that matters.

You are right, exiftool(-k).exe file must be renamed to exiftool.exe and placed in the XnVIEW's Add-on directory before.
I think your bug is due to your OS version (windows-7 64-bit), Pierre ?

Re: Edit GPS coordinates: how to ?
OK, I found it:
the option "edit GPS ..."" is only available in the browser-mode , as well as "open GPS location in Geohack" ,
this seems to work OK in windows-7 - 64 bit.
Now in view - mode the edit option isn't available, but the ""open GPS location in geohack"" option is,
however this doesn't open geohack, but instead it opens google maps !
Is this a bug or a feature ?
