Hello!
Sometimes when I work with XnView, it is necessary to look through images in backward direction. But backward browsing is much more slower, even for quite small pictures, because XnView can't cache previous image (unlike for example ACDSee). IMHO option "reed one previous image" could be quite useful.
Second, option "to cache given number of images" (1-4) also could improve performance for browsing quite slow storage types.

There is no such an option in XnView. There is only "keep current image in cache" option, which means that only seen (but not unseen!) previous image would be cached. Then it leads to much slower performance in backward-order image browsing.xnview wrote:Do you have enabled previous caching?

Sorry, if you have activated 'read ahead', XnView cache file in the direction that you use (next or previous file)

Sorry, I misunderstood this option, so slow performance just seemed to me.
But is it reasonable idea to cache more then one image?
