REQ: WMV thumbnails
I don't get any WMV thumbnails though. Previewing them works. XNView also crashed when trying to create thumbs from certain WMVs.
Re: RC1: Black screen on all videos in all modes
Could you send me a little WMV??Danny wrote:Most definately a codec issue since MPGs, MOVs and most AVIs work for me.Dreamer wrote:Black screen on all videos in all modes (sound is working).
Tested: avi, mpg, wmv (asf doesn't work completely)
The only working is mov, but xnview lose focus if I go to mov in the browser.

I'm afraid i can't. That's partly because i don't really know which ones are causing the crash. They may be corrupted anyway though...xnview wrote:Could you send me a little WMV??Danny wrote:Most definately a codec issue since MPGs, MOVs and most AVIs work for me.Dreamer wrote:Black screen on all videos in all modes (sound is working).

You need the following installed...
Windows Media Player 9 Series
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/window ... layer.aspx
Windows Media 10 Codecs for WMP 9
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/window ... nload.aspx
Windows Media Video 9 VCM
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... layLang=en
My Test Video is
"quake4_e32005.wmv" 54Mb
Encoded with Windows Media Audio 9.1 and Windows Media Video 9.
Works great with XnView 1.80 RC1 internal player.

Hmmm, yes you're correct there are no thumbnails for WMV files but given that RC2 is close I wouldn't say too much just yet.

Re: RC1: Black screen on all videos in all modes
It was a problem with the XviD Codec which i solved by uninstalling it and installing DivX.xnview wrote:Someone has crash with WMV files?Danny wrote:I'm afraid i can't. That's partly because i don't really know which ones are causing the crash. They may be corrupted anyway though...
Anyway, to bring the discussion back on topic: will we get WMV thumbnails in 1.8 or will we have to wait some more?
Ok, I've tested this on both Win98 SE and Win2000 SP4 and there have not been any thumbnails for WMV files with RC1,2,3 and 4.
I do not remember this being a problem for XnView 1.74.

Hmmm. That's weird. Why can the ordinary Windows Explorer create them that quickly then (about 4 per second)?xnview wrote:I've not put thumbnail of wmv because takes very long to create...Dreamer wrote:I don't think the problem is solved, we still don't have thumbnails for wmv - so it's not a bug but request.
The question is - in 1.80 or not - Pierre?
Ah well, if you knew you would have already fixed it, i guess.
P.S.: The threads topic already says "REQ:" so this was never meant to be a bugreport.
