Hi there, (please apologize my bad english)
I have a problem since Version 1.95.
When I start XnView and there are only pictures to see, anything is okay. But if there are movies in the folder (mpg, avi, wmv) XnView crashes immediately without any message.
I tried the new version (1.97) and the problem is still the same.
My System is XP SP3
I renamed the xnview.ini -> problem still exist
I rebuild thumbnail cache -> problem still exist
Are there any suggestions?
Thx in advance

Could you try with only 1 type of movie. To know which format make the crash?
Pierre.
Re: XnView crashes every time when there are movies in folders
So, I've made a test.
I created four folders. In each folder were only one movie.
Folder with avi --> crash
Folder with mpg --> crash
Folder with wmv --> crash
Folder with flv --> crash
Hmm I have no idea.

In 'option/File list' if you disabled 'thumbnails' for video files?
Pierre.
Re: XnView crashes every time when there are movies in folders
When I disable the thumbnails for video files I can go into the folder without crash and see the files with name. When I click on one of these files (left or right click) Xnview crashes.

Perhaps a problem with the codec??? On my XP SP3, i have no problem with such movies...

Re: XnView crashes every time when there are movies in folders
I think so too.
Last day I installed another Pictureviewer for testing and there I had the same problems.
So it is a problem with my computer / codecs and not with XnView.
It's mysterious, because I don't have any problems with the Explorer and to view the movies with external Videoplayers - but this is something I have to figure out by myself.
Thanks a lot for your help.

Re: XnView crashes every time when there are movies in folders
i have ssame issue
it is due to movie drivers
even using ffdshow, movie plays fine but depending on settings XNVIEW crashes
you have to keep trying settings until it works
only XNVIEW crashes while all other programs play them fine
i may have 100 MJPEG avi from same camera and XNVIEW crashes on only 3 of them.
