There is no way to tell it to basically scroll through the files as they are in my windows folder.
If there any reason for that? Or perhaps a setting I missed?
I have literally thousands upon thousands of pictures on my computer and some folders are sorted differently from others, which makes it very annoying when scrolling through them with XnView.
Like for example my main picture folder is sorted my date modified, however the subfolders may be sorted differently (be it alphabetically or date created or modified or any number of things). Despite how much effort I put in sorting my picture folders to view them exactly how I want to view them, I open up a specific picture on XnView, and it'll only scroll through them one way, which is whatever way I have it set in XnView.
So again, is there any way to have XnView "see" the pictures as they are sorted in my windows folder?

There is a possibility for this in XnView MP (a new version in development that is designed to work the same way in different operating systems).
MP leaves a special file (.xnviewsort) in each folder which contains the custom sort order (which the user defines via drag-and-drop rearrangement of files in the browser).
An exciting enhancement.

Hopefully it utilizes the feature i'm talking about, because that would be awesome.
That'd be a step in the right direction but it would still be tedious to have to sort my folders and pics and then sort them again in XnView. Hopefully this new one works out well! I'll definitely be looking forward to it.
