PCO .b16 convert to 16bit tiff

Post by innervisionary »

Hello,

I'm having issues converting PCO camera .b16 files under nconvert 5.54. These files are originally in 16 bit format, but I apparently can only convert them into 8 bit format. When trying to convert from .b16 to 16 bit TIFF (uyvy), using the following command line
nconvert -out uyvy *.b16
it says the files cannot be written in this format.
It works perfectly well with 8bit TIFF conversion though.

Is there any chance for me to be able to convert my .b16 into a 16 bit ImageJ read format? Do I have to put a special command tag in my line?

Thank you in advance for answer/help

Ok, thank you for your answer. Then I'll be watching and waiting for this version, and 8bit should be OK while waiting!

Hello,

there is a tool "ImageConverter1.3.exe" which was served by PCO together with
the (free) CamWare package up to version 2.15 or so. It's rather old fashioned
(Win98 look-and-feel) but it still works also under WinXP.
You need this exe together with two dll and then you can convert b16 to 16bit TIFF,
(in batch mode) which are easily readable with ImageJ (full 16bit format).
I can send the exe and dll to you by mail if you like.

Best regards,

Uwe
