I use Xnview all the time, it's great, downloaded the latest Xnview for windows XP, v1.97, but saw that this old problem has not been resolved:
Put in the setting in question: Load Xnview, View -> Sort by -> EXIF date, ascending (then close Xnview)
Then reproduce the problem on a directory with several photos:
1) Double click on a JPG in Windows Explorer (result: Xnview loads the JPG)
2) Hit enter (result: Xnview browser appears, and shows thumbnails, but they are NOT in ascending EXIF date. Yet a verification of that setting shows that it is indeed still there).
Two lame workarounds for the time being are:
- Hit refresh and the thumbnails sort correctly.
- Set "sort by" to "date" then back to "exif date" and the thumbnails sort correctly.
The previous versions also did this for some reason. Perhaps there is a very easy fix for this? I would appreciate it!
Merci,
Jean

It loads the file in view mode? Or fullscreen?JeanGoulet wrote:1) Double click on a JPG in Windows Explorer (result: Xnview loads the JPG)
The folder is already in the cache?2) Hit enter (result: Xnview browser appears, and shows thumbnails, but they are NOT in ascending EXIF date. Yet a verification of that setting shows that it is indeed still there).

Fullscreen (or to be extra precise, near-fullscreen, because the Xnview window title is there - as opposed to true fullscreen with F11 which shows the JPG with no window)xnview wrote:It loads the file in view mode? No, "Enable caching" is disabled (tools - options - thumbnails - cache).
