Zip/7z/Rar/Etc... Support

Post by turulo »

Hi, I've recently found XnView thanks for developing it. I like the mix between a picture browser and file browser.

One problem I find with it is that I cannot see the contents inside compressed files. I tend to compress my image galleries in zip files (most are not even using compression) just to keep them in one file. So this limits me from using XnView and I like it a lot.

Another thing that's bugging me is that it can't deal with unicode characters, but this is a common issue with most software and I guess that it's difficult to solve.

I wish there was some plugin or something we can add so it can read the contents of a compressed file (zip/7z/rar/etc) because it would rock, it would allow me to totally forget about using the damn windows explorer which I hate like the plague.

Thank you very much.

Thank you for the links.

At first I couldn't believe that I didn't see them but then I noticed that when you click the "Download" section of the tree, the subsections "Addons", "I/O Plugins" and "Languages" are missing.

The XnViewMP version it looks very promising.
