well, the fullscreen-view only appears on the build-in LCD (here of course without the artefacts), i tried to change it in the options, but there is only an option to have the browser (but not fullscreen) on the second screen?

Interesting, I checked the same place where I checked before. While the first try it was written: "Dual screen, use second monitor (browser only)" and the fullscreen showed on the laptop's internal LCD even when I opened the browser on the second screen, NOW, one minute later, I have "Dual screen, use second monitor (Browser & slideshow). The only thing I did in the meantime was switching from german to english interface. NOW the fullscreen starts on the screen where the browser window is located, which is the expected behaviour.

Coming back to the original question: yes in fullscreen mode on the second monitor I also have the artefacts.

Really strange. You have this problem only on your second monitor, right?

yes, only on the second monitor, both in browserview and fullscreen view. but no other program shows this behaviour. strange? thats what I thought too.

I will try one more thing later. I have a second windows installed on partition D:\, I will test the behaviour on this one.

sorry for being away so long. I had to prepare a scientific poster which actually took my full worktime during the last week. interestingly, during this process, I found out, that when rotating the external monitor by 90° ( so that I could easily fit a portrait poster in it) NO artefacts in any of the corners or elsewhere. rotating back to normal position -> artefacts back

now i will find the time to test on my second windows on the same machine (partition D:)

Edt:
i think I finally came a little closer to the mysterious reasons behind my problem:
first, when installing 1.97.2 on my second windows, it opened up on the external screen, with NO artefacts. I remembered that on my gaming windows I had the external screen set up as "primary monitor" to have a better resolution than with the build-in screen. So I changed the settings back to default et voila -> artefacts back, but only on the external screen in any combination of primary/secondary monitor.

Then I wondered, why the artefact might end up there at the exact position where it does. Could it be that the resolution of 1280 for the build-in laptop monitor, when this one is set to be primary, is somehow affecting the image on the other screen (1650)? I think that the artefact starts where the smaller screen would end, but I dont know about a handy way to measure the pixels.

Hope this helps,

M

edt2:

now I subsequently did the same setup for my "working windows" on C:\ . Same here, changing the external screen to be primary, resolved the issue.
