Cannot Create Video In Slideshow

I am on WIndows XP SP3 with 1.97.2
I was trying Tools-Slideshow and did manage to create video.
Then I tried some of the video formats and suddenly I could not create any video.
When I click the browse icon alongside filename a Save As comes up but there is no "Save As type"
And so "nothing" can be saved

How do I restore?

Also I would like to have the "Insert information" with IPTC etc that I can get into a slideshow on the video - this did not seem to happen although show as option on page above video
