The subject of this post was hard to compose, but the request isn't.
It would be great if one could select a single image and tile multiple copies of it using Strip of Images and/or Contact Sheet.
No change to the dialogs for either function should be necessary. If the user selects a single file and opens either the Strip of Images dialog or the Contact Sheet dialog, then XnView should detect that only one image was selected and automatically tile multiple copies of that single image according to the selections the user makes in the dialog...
The current workaround is for the user to make multiple temporary copies of the image first, but that is self-evidently an inefficient approach (a pain, actually).

Re: Reqst: One file repeated in Strip of Images/Contact Shee
Hello John,
An other "less painful" workaround is to select one picture (or several) and use:
Files\Print\Picture Collection (uncheck: Multiple Image per Page)
or
Files\Print\Thumbnails
... And print to a virtual PDF printer (cups-pdf for ubuntu, or like pdf creator for windows)
...But I support your request !

Maybe Pierre can call this same function into :
Create\Picture Collection
...But instead to use the "Print" button, implement a new "Save as" button to export the result to (for example) : a .TIF multi pages, a .PDF multi pages, a jpg file, etc ... (as usual)
???
