Freeware-User means that he wants it to be like in 1.74 version, no tabs at all, even when doubleclicking on an image in thumbnail view.
Menu > View > and unmark "Folder Tabs"
 Sorry, can't go this path :?

With a file

:) Hi !
- You must open any image file to get the full "View" Menu, where that entry is located alright… With an empty main window, you get a minimal menu without this entry…

 Kind regards,
Claude

I have no tabs, even when doubleclicking on an image in thumbnail view.

Try also Options > View > and mark "Only one view opened".

?? :?

Edit: OK, you must go to the Browser first.
Edit 2: So it's also in Viewer but at bottom (4th from bottom).

Thank you Clo for explanation.
I think that this option must be shown in the "Options -> Folder tabs" window. Then everybody will find it in the right place.

View/Folder tabs in Options/Folder tabs? Perhaps not a good idea because in View menu we have Status bar, toolbar too.
