Setting to open in tabs

I've installed v1.97.4 on a new machine, and am puzzling over settings that I haven't had to look at for a long time.
For example, when I double click on an image in Browser view, I expect it to open in a new tab of its own. But all the images open in the same tab, so only one image is ever in view.

I have tried turning the 'Open one view per selected image' option on, and off, but that makes no difference.

Which setting allows me to open each image in its own view tab?

Ah, sorted.

View | 'Only one window view opened'
means one File View per tab rather than limiting the instances of Application Window to 1.
