Request: rename favourites to bookmarks

Bookmarks is commonly used, and if the term favourites were changed, English vs. American spelling would be no matter.

• Hm… It's certainly OK for English, but then a translation issue arises : For instance in French, the very exact translation of “Bookmark” is “Signet” (it means ¦a¦ ribbon¦s you have in old books to mark pages, that's getting rare !).
- Many users will not understand it. Besides, M$ uses «Favoris» in French and similar words in others Latin-based languages.
- So …

In English I too prefer it written as 'Bookmarks' but I'd have to agree with Clo on his point.

'favourites' or 'bookmarks' - it doesn't matter to me to much in the case of XnView; it's just down to a user's preference.

I too prefer 'favorites', but I dont think it is an issue about translation difficulties. The translators task is (among others) to find the proper term in their own language, and it's not always the direct equivalent of the english original. So if there will be a change to 'bookmarks', then translations do not have to change if it does not work (like in the french example above).

To summarize: pick the proper terminology in english regardless to how it might affect tranlations, the translators will solve the problem in their own languages as they find best.
