XnView is an great program. many useful features and very fast, especially in generating thumbs of videos. the support of metadata in descript.ion-files was one reason to try and change to XnView a view months ago.
now i tried to customize the tooltips and labels for thumbnails and noticed that user-settings for non-image files are mostly ignored. full support is only for picture-formats.
i found in this board that hard-coded values are used for non-image-files because for videos many things are different from pictures.
i am missing the display of descriptions as tooltips and labels very much.
in normal thumbnail-view they are only visible in the statusbar (not in tooltips, not in labels).it needs a click on every object to display it (if there is any) in the statusbar. this way an quick overview is impossible.
is it not possible to remove these descriptions (annotations) from the set of hardcoded values and handle it the normal way as for pictures ?
descriptions are simple and 'same' structered for every filetype - no difference between pictures/non-pictures, no difficult internal filestructures/embedded data ...just simple text.
may be it is possible to handle descriptions in the normaly way to get an quick overview in thumbnailview ?
what do you think ?
thank you
