Hello
we have to scan a lot of drawings and I want to define a scan-job for the Repro-shop. IMHO the order "make scans on TIF" will not be enough, and so I try to define more exactly. At the moment I have:
File format: TIFF
File extension: tif
DPI: 400 x 400
Compression: CCITT Group 4
Scaling: not allowed
origin of coordinates: top left
Rotation: always like the drawing-header
white space: not allowed; has to be cropped
Bit: 1 (black/white)
File name: see further definition ...
Metadata (EXIF / IPTC / XMP): see further definition ...
Purging(?)/Cleaning(?): not allowed
Color space: RGB
Multipage file: not allowed
What to you think about it? Useful? Or senseless? Missing some important definitions?
Regards
Peter

Not sure I understand the question, you want to give the repro-guys a good instruction how to scan? If so I must question why you want a 1-bit image with RGB color space. I belive 1-bit images can not have any colorspace, plz correct me if im wrong.
Cant come up with any more definitions, I think you've covered more than I could imagine. Do the repro know what all those posts mean? You might check that so they understand what you want.

I don't know. I took an existing TIF which was "made as usual" and looked at all the properties that XnView showed me.

I see, if XnView says that it has color space then XnView probably shows wrong info when reading 1-bit images. Could be something to report.
