No Video on Secondary Monitor

Post by jimcamel »

Running version 1.97.6. Problem occurs on all the laptops/desktops I could try - 2 Win-7 and one Vista.

After I select a video file on the browser - I can see it in the preview - and it runs there. Although the controls for the Preview (start/stop, etc on the primary monitor - are a bit scrambled...). When I run it, it opens on the 2nd monitor but does not display anything after the first frame. The audio runs, however.

Alternatively, if I reduce this to a window and start it on the primary display, it displays but when I move it to the second display it freezes at that point. Even stranger if I leave it half on one monitor and half on the other - the primary half shows video and the image is frozen on the secondary.

Now this doesn't happen with all videos...in particular, the ones I am trying to run have been generated from Proshow Producer - and it occurs in a variety of the formats I produce. I've tried the standard 720p Producer configures as well as a selection of other formats.

If I generate an iPad compatible video from Producer, I get a message "Format of the file Jason-iPad.mp4" could not be determined - either monitor.

All the video files I am having difficulty do play ok on BOTH monitors when played in Windows Media Player and VLC.

any thoughts ?
