Editing multipage TIFF file

Post by twpang »

I have downloaded 1.97.4 XnView and plan to use it to perform editing on my multipage tiff file but encountered some problems.
(1) After editing, I selected "File - Save as ..." or the "Save as" icon on the tool bar and change (if needed) the "save as type:" to "TIF - TIFF Version 6" and then click the "save" button. The program prompted me with ".... already exist. Do you want to replace it?". After I click "Yes", the program then prompted me with "Do you want to save all Pages?" and "Do not show this message again.". I put a tick to the message "Do not show this message again." and click "OK" button. The file saved OK. The next time I use "save as" again. the same messages appear ... hence the "Do not show this message again." does not work.
This is a mirror issue.
(2) If I selected "File - Save". The Program just prompts me with "..... already exist. Do you want to replace it?". If I click "OK", the program just save the current page as a single page TIFF file .... and all my other pages in the multipage file were lost.
I can remind myself not to use "Save" but is more difficult to remind my wife not to as it is common to use "save" function during editing.
(3) When I am editing my file and press "page up" or "page down", the program prompt me with "Do you want to save changes to .....?" and "Never ask again". If I click OK, my multipage file becomes a single page tiff file again. I had not tried the "Never ask again" option but if it works as expected, even "Page Up" or "Page Down" will kill my multipage file".
Any setting I can use to force the multipage Tiff file saving?
Thanks in advance for the help.
Cheers, TW Pang.

I am experiencing the same problems. A fix or setting to avoid these issues would be great...
