How about a "go to file number" feature (for example "200") like Adobe Acrobat has for pages? with that we can continue viewing the files with only remembering the number and not the name of a file that can have a different sorting and a number is more easy to remember than a long name
Thanks for your suggestion. In documents like PDF, users are used to a "Page" approach and used to Page numbers, e.g. they want to view or print a specific page. But I don't think it is useful to remember a file number, which happens to be the number in a directory. If you moved or removed one file, some of the numbers would change, some wouldn't. So this number changes too often.
People have more and more digital images, so your idea might be still good and useful.
Could be useful. Although the order may change after some file operations, I know that if that file had number 143 in 480, it should be near that number.
It won't be difficult to implement and can be useful sometimes. I vote to implement it!
