Option for "Mirrored Reset X/Y" (reset to the right)

Post by NM64 »

The reset X/Y option is TOTALLY AWESOME... except when the things your viewing/reading go RIGHT TO LEFT! (such as manga, vertical Japanese writing, or other right to left languages like Hebrew)

This means that you have to either zoom out to fit the entire image on-screen (which may be too small at times), or scroll all the way to the right for every single image (annoying up the wazoo).

Make a PortableApps version, THEN I'll try it.

In v.1.98b1, new function resets to top-right. The setting is adjusted in ini

Code: Select all

[View]
ResetXY=2

Doesn't seem to work. It still always resets to top-left. :|

"Fit image to window, large only" But, I zoomed in the image and used lock zoom.

I noticed that when I open a new image view it correctly resets to top-right, but when I move to nex /prev file it resets to top-left.

I'm having the exact same issue, though I used "No fit"

Not fixed; it's exactly the same as it was in beta 1 & 2.

I gotta ask, can you not test it yourself or something?

In beta3, if auto-image size is changed, the ini item is reset to 1 instead of maintaining 2.

This happened in beta1 & 2 as well. You have to make sure you set your fit setting first, and then close the program and set "ResetXY=2"

Now it works much better when 'lock zoom' is on, but as nintendomaniac64 noted, with 'No fit' it is same as in beta 2.

There's also bug when using 'lock zoom'. XnView doesn't always reset all the way to the right when moving to next / prev file. I think XnView uses the width of the previous file to set the new X position.

E.g. You have two files '1.jpg' and '2.jpg' with different dimensions (width of '2.jpg' is bigger). When you view '1.jpg' file it's correctly reset to the right, but when you move to next file '2.jpg' it is reset to the right by using the width of the '1.jpg' as new X position.

As you describe, 'lock zoom' has also been 'hold position' and better for equal sized image reading. Maybe holding an approximate relative postion should be done for the rest, choosing between 9 points: center-left, bottom-right, etc.

If you go in options, 'reset X/Y' is changed...
