- Alpha blending between images (like IrfanView and some of the pay-to-playwares have)
- Image scaling on the fly to better accomodate name, index, metadata information on the same screen. Boost the use of bottom-centre info positioning. Study Thorsten Lemke's GraphicConverter X (or MS's Expression Media 2) for great examples of how it's done.
- .m3u or some kind of sophisticated playlist support for the background music -- not all of us want to hear the same song over and over while watching pictures that, one would hope, are different one from the other (from the other from the other ad inf. ad naus.)

What do you means? XnViewMP use already image scaling on the fly...Silversleeves wrote: [*]Image scaling on the fly to better accomodate name, index, metadata information on the same screen. Then why do we still see text from the image detail fields we choose overlapping our pictures? It does this no matter what position you select for displaying image data. Don't feel too bad, though -- doing it as it's done in Lemke's app or in MSXM2 is something I have missed most since losing my last Mac.xnview wrote:What do you means? And I logged back in to suggest this slideshow "goodie" for all future versions and builds:
An option to put some info fields in one place and some in another. If such things as these bloat out the application to ridiculous degrees, in your opinion as originator author and maintaner, Pierre, then may I suggest endorsing or giving permission for some skilled coder/s to create an "XnShow" slideshow programme that would have all these features right from day 1?

Re: Features to add to Slideshow (Win/Lin)
I suppose I could put something together to show how I would like to see things, and a screenshot of how it's done now in full-screen and slideshow in the latest version to compare and contrast it with.
The sweet irony here is that I'll probably be creating the former in GIMP 2.6 for Windows. When it's XnView MP I'd like to see this feature added to.
