now with XnView 1.97.2 and 1.97.4; batch rename not work as before.
before rename with options in doubloon to add characters in the end just if necessary; add none for first and a for second (now B for second, not A)
Other Probleme: before character for doubloon are lowercase, now uppercase. and option to rename all (name+ext)to lowercase not work for this.
batch rename

Re: batch rename
version 1.97.6
same 2 problems
example1: I rename my group picture, same name 'FOUX-' and doublon option add characters in the end
1/ characters added for doublon are UPPERCASE (old version, it's lowercase) (can you add option to add character in lowercase same previous revision ?)
2/ I check option to force case in lowercase, but characters for doublon stay in UPPERCASE (must rename in two time)

example2: I rename my group picture, same name 'FOUX' and add for doublon '-#' only if necessary
For first file, it's ok, but for second letter is B, and must be A (can you add option to start doublon name by A)

my example3: real situation
I transfer my photo from phone to PC, each month (to make memory space in phone).
phone name picture P001.jpg, P002.jpg.... after delete all picture, phone name new picture P001.jpg...
I use XnView to rename picture with modified date and doublon by add letter.
With old version, XnView work perfectly.
result: 20090725-1544.jpg and if doublon (same date-time) doublon is 20090725-1544a.jpg and after 20090725-1544b.jpg
now with this version XNview rename with UPERCASE letter and first is B!
result: 20090725-1544.jpg and 20090725-1544B.jpg for doublon (il manque le a et la casse en minuscule
)
If it's not considered as bug; can you move my post to suggestion.
Thank's

Re: batch rename
it's good with 1.97.7, just letter allways in UPPERCASE.
Can you add Doublon: characters uppercase and characters lowercase
Un grand merci Pierre
