I use Keywords fields in IPTC images to "tag" my images. I find its the easier way to tag them with a list of tags. I got three questions:
1# When I view my images, I do not know which ones do not have this data, so I need to hit "ctrl-i" then click on the keyword for each image (or at least sort it by date, then find the last one that has the data). Is there a quicker way to find this information? Like displaying the keywords in the statues bar or something?
2# I only ever use the "keyword" tab in the "edit IPTC data". How do I change it so thats the default view? It may only be a clicked, but if I go into it 10 000 times, thats 10 000 wasted clicks....
3# I got over 10 000 images in the folder, if I want to search it takes a VERY long time, is there anyway this can be indexed?

With batch rename, keywords can be inserted (which would be an indicator for file manager too).s1KEg09ZqY wrote: 1# When I view my images, I do not know which ones do not have this data, so I need to hit "ctrl-i" then click on the keyword for each image (or at least sort it by date, then find the last one that has the data). In XnViewMP you can change keywords in the category panel, and search can use database...s1KEg09ZqY wrote: 2# I only ever use the "keyword" tab in the "edit IPTC data". batch insert would not work, I manually give them keywords depending what the image is.marsh wrote:With batch rename, keywords can be inserted (which would be an indicator for file manager too).s1KEg09ZqY wrote: 1# When I view my images, I do not know which ones do not have this data, so I need to hit "ctrl-i" then click on the keyword for each image (or at least sort it by date, then find the last one that has the data). Ill take a look at that software later, but what database does it use? Win7 indexed DB or its own that needs to be built?xnview wrote:In XnViewMP you can change keywords in the category panel, and search can use database...s1KEg09ZqY wrote: 2# I only ever use the "keyword" tab in the "edit IPTC data". They can be shown at several places:s1KEg09ZqY wrote:batch insert would not work, I manually give them keywords depending what the image is.marsh wrote:With batch rename, keywords can be inserted (which would be an indicator for file manager too).s1KEg09ZqY wrote: 1# When I view my images, I do not know which ones do not have this data, so I need to hit "ctrl-i" then click on the keyword for each image (or at least sort it by date, then find the last one that has the data). Options... View>{View}>Title bar
(ex. <File Index> <Directory><Filename With Ext> <IPTC:Keywords> )
Options... View>Fullscreen>[x]Show Information
Options... Browser>Thumbnails>Thumbnail label
Options... Browser>[x]Show tooltips
or use search function to include keywords and browse the results.
