Modified date change when rebuilding a thumbnail

Hello,

When rebuilding thumbnails, the file modification date is altered despite the option "Keep date/time for saving" is flagged.
As far as I can see, other modifications made on the picture do not change the modification date.

I use the latest version 1.97.8 but it seems the problem existed in older versions as well
