Hello, I think we need general topic for help with translation of XnViewMP.
Now I have some problem with translating:
Code: Select all
<message>
<location filename="DlgConvertProcess.h" line="2426"/>
<source>Normalize Ex</source>
<translation type="unfinished"></translation>
</message>
What does 'Ex' mean? Exponential? or something else?
In regular XnView translation I had the same problem, and probably this isn't translated correctly...
Please help

Yes, a good idea, Skiff. Please note that we have a general topic for
Translation tricks and traps , already. But not a general topic for questions.

Just guessing: Extended?
What does "Conbright" stand for? Contrast & Brightness? And the same with "Gammasat" (Gamma/Saturation). Translating and then combining the two words does not work very well.

It's the name from author of this method, so no need to translate...

Thanks, now I've done translation for 0.27. Attaching in appropriate topic.
@Helmut: I've seen 'Translation Tricks and Traps' topic but questions would be better separated

Some English terms which don't mean much to me:
1 - QtCopyDialogPrivate > Force: Cannot remove destination file
2 - DlgExportClass > Up
3 - ItemModel > Line
Can someone please help and explain?

When destination file can't be removed
2 - DlgExportClass > Up
Name of PNG filter, Up/Paeth/Avg can be kept in english
3 - ItemModel > Line
When you are in details, you can add Line number to the displayed column

1. What does
Code: Select all
<location filename="DlgSettingsInterface.ui" line="53"/>
<source>Synchronize browser when view is closed</source>
do?
Browser is synchronized with what?
2. Same with
Code: Select all
<location filename="DlgSettingsView.ui" line="372"/>
<source>View all icons in the file as snapshot</source>
What icons, and what snapshot?

Hello! Everywhere it is mentioned "Camera RAW", it should be translated? In some places it seems to me it is necessary to leave simply "RAW"?

Camera Raw (please note the lowercase of "Raw") means the raw data format of the camera. In some languages (e.g. German) the term has found an appropriate translation, but in many languages (e.g. German
) the original term is also understandable or even clearer. Perhaps you
search for websites in your language a bit to see whether translations are available. With leaving the term "Camera Raw" you should be pretty much on the safe side.
