XnView not responding on vista

Hello all,
I have the following problem on Vista, running XnView 1.97.8 (and previous versions).
1) dblckick on an image on a folder: XnView opens and show the image regularly
2) Escape (to close the viewer): XnView freezes (not responding). I have to close it from the Task Manager

Could you try with only 1 file in the folder?
Could you try with 'Read ahead' disabled?
