Strange, if i don't use 'use transparency' it's ok. So perhaps the alpha channel is bad???

Re: not reading multy-layered TIF file
phoroshop and other viewers read file with no problems. this file was created in 3dsmax and resaved in photoshop cs5 - dont know where is problem lives
there is one more issue with tif - this is empty image (all black) and alpha channel is black - but error:

Re: not reading multy-layered TIF file
By disabling 'use alpha channel' you can view it correctlyharumscarum wrote:phoroshop and other viewers read file with no problems. this file was created in 3dsmax and resaved in photoshop cs5 - dont know where is problem lives

Re: not reading multy-layered TIF file
do you mean set "Ignore alpha channel" in General - Operations? this didn't help anyways. i see images in viewer and fullscreen but thumbnails are emptyxnview wrote:By disabling 'use alpha channel' you can view it correctly
not really, 3800*2400. but this error message could happen on different images - from 5mb to 600mb size. have no idea why. i have windows7 and 8gb ramIs it a big picture?
PS - xnView is very slow on RAW files (i checked 10megapixel EXR and PEF) and also slow with huge JPEG files (more than 12000*8000px) - 'read one image ahead' is enabled

Re: not reading multy-layered TIF file
more investigation - alpha channel not working only in thumbnails. so we don't see complete image in browser as thumbnail if it has complete black alpha.
could it be corrected in next build?
thank you in advance

Re: not reading multy-layered TIF file
regarding alpha - yes i have updated thumbnails. let me post complete illustration - well alpha works in viewer and in thumbnails it is just gray.
regarding memory issue - i cannot detect it - sometimes it happens on big images sometimes not. also once i have this erorr message on small image (but it was many images in folder)
