"print opened images" fails

I just installed the v1.97.8 of XnView and a task that I've accomplished numerous times over the last 2-3years no longer functions in the current release: I open a few images and/or create contact sheets that I want to print and select "File>Print opened images...". The result yields multiple blank pages. Regardless of changes made to toggles in the print setup (i.e. "Insert all Pages", etc.) the number of pages printed is correct, but no image information is printed. Why??
