Can you view items with *all* selected categories

Can you view items with *all* selected categories
Running version 1.97.8
When selecting multiple categories it displays items with *any* of them. Is there a filter, or toggle to only display items with *all* of them?

Re: Can you view items with *all* selected categories
Thanks for the reply. Is that on the roadmap, or would it be difficult to add?
Re: Can you view items with *all* selected categories
Must be added, currently only XnViewMP has this feature
Pierre.
Re: Can you view items with *all* selected categories
I tried it, but it crashed when playing with categories & .avi files. I assumed it just wasn't ready for prime time yet.

Could you tell me what you do?airjrdn wrote:I tried it, but it crashed when playing with categories & .avi files. I assumed it just wasn't ready for prime time yet.

Re: Can you view items with *all* selected categories
I just opened XnViewMP, and when clicking on the custom subcategory "Lana" I created under Videos, it crashes. WinXP's error dialog box pops up offering to send data to Microsoft.
Re: Can you view items with *all* selected categories
So, you have created a subcategory, and add a video on it, right?airjrdn wrote:I just opened XnViewMP, and when clicking on the custom subcategory "Lana" I created under Videos, it crashes. WinXP's error dialog box pops up offering to send data to Microsoft.

Re: Can you view items with *all* selected categories
It's a subcategory with 5 videos added to it. They were adding by dragging them from the thumbnail view onto that subcategory.
Re: Can you view items with *all* selected categories
If you make the same thing with only pictures, same problem?airjrdn wrote:It's a subcategory with 5 videos added to it. They were adding by dragging them from the thumbnail view onto that subcategory.

Re: Can you view items with *all* selected categories
No. It seems to work fine for pictures. I can't really tell, but I'm wondering if I have one of the videos assigned to that category twice.
Re: Can you view items with *all* selected categories
i can't reproduce, could you try to rename the xnview.db file?airjrdn wrote:No. It seems to work fine for pictures. I can't really tell, but I'm wondering if I have one of the videos assigned to that category twice.

Re: Can you view items with *all* selected categories
I renamed the XnView.db file in C:\Documents and Settings\[MyUsername]\Application Data\XnViewMP to _XnView.db
A new XnView.db was created when starting XnViewMP (xnview.exe)
I right clicked on Videos and created a new category called Lana
I chose "Folders" at the top left and navigated to a folder with four .mp4 files
Each of the four play fine in VLC. VLC reports them as:
- H264 - MPEG-4 AVC (part 10) (avc1)
- Resolution: 640x480
- Frame rate: 25
- MPEG AAC Audio (mp4a)
- Stereo
- 44100 Hz
I highlighted the four videos and drag-n-dropped them to the Lana subcategory
The Lana subcategory updated to show 4 items: Lana (4)
I clicked a different category under Categories, then clicked Lana (4)
The application crashed.

Re: Can you view items with *all* selected categories
If you retry with only 1 mp4, the same?
Pierre.
Re: Can you view items with *all* selected categories
Yep, still dies.
