0.35 using as a texture library

Post by neosun »

Hi,
i have tried today to work with XnView MP .35 as a media library for textures
and encountered some handling issues.

1. The worst problem is you can not watch your texture lists (wich are, lets say,
determined by Categories and Color Labels) in full view mode because XnView MP
will go to the next physical available file after switching to fullscreen instead of
showing the next texture in the browser.

The default behavior is for sure useful for the normal work with XnView MP, but an
option in the preferences or alternative hotkeys to go to the next file in the list
would be awesome.
Or wait, maybe it should be even the default behavior if you have chosen any
Category, because u normally want to watch only these files then.

2. It should be possible to rename Color Labels and add more by myself.
You might say, Categories should do the job. But i find it easier to set the Match
to any and work with Color Labels for precision.

Lets go for an example here:
There are a few different Categories of Tiles, like floor, facade, etc. They are
defined in the Categories and I define "texture HQ" as a Color Label. Now it is
possible to view all kind of tiles from textureHQ.
Thats only possible by combining ColorLabels and Categories.

Would love to see some features of this kind in the future releases,
anyhow, its a great App, thanks for all the work!

Regards,
Paul

This is changed for next version...

You can rename them in xnview.ini (currently not possible to add more)

great, i'm looking forward to this release.
strange, i can't find anything relying to the color labels in the xnview.ini
but i managed to change them by customizing my language file.
