[Fixed] RC3: Several Tabs for one image

[Fixed] RC3: Several Tabs for one image
As opposed to previous RC's when reopening/viewing the same image again
a new TAB is created, i.e. when constantly enter/dblclick on same image to switch
between viewer and browser every time a new TAB is created for same image.

Sorry i don't understand the problem????deus-ex wrote:As opposed to previous RC's when reopening/viewing the same image again

Pierre.
v.1.74 operates the same way, but without tabs. View mode is started each time you
select a photo. These seperate views can be selected by windows submenu. 'Only one
view opened' option can offer one image at a time use.
Several tabs for same image can be used to apply temporary effects to each view and
compare them. This can be useful. I don't remember RC2 acting differently.

Right, marsh. I also think that this is a feature and not a bug. With the option 'Only one view opened' you can even change the behaviour, if needed.
Perhaps the option ''Only one view opened'' should be activated by default?
PS: Two "line breakers" have met each other (deus ex and marsh)

Sorry but 1.74 has the same system (without TAB), and RC1/RC2 toodeus-ex wrote:When you view an image a TAB for the image is created. Now when you

so on... This is opposed to RC2 where there would'nt be several TABs for
the same image which makes more sense to me.
Pierre.
No, that's not the case. The option is named wrongly, it should be labeled "Only one view per image". When activated, XnView will make sure that each image is opened only once - exactly what you want.marsh wrote:That would mean only seeing 2 tabs maximum though.helmut wrote:Right, marsh. So we really should rename this option - and perhaps activate it per default.
That does'nt work as expected either. With "General\Open a window per Picture" enabledhelmut wrote:Right - wrong option. The option you need is in category "General" and it's name is "Open a window per picture".marsh wrote:I see only 2 tabs maximum with that option selected (one for browser, one for view).
This is the option I meant and which should be activated by default.
no additional TABs are created anymore, only one TAB is visible which represents either the
Browser or the viewed image.
So whe need an option Only one TAB per Image plus maybe the ability to create a copy
of a TAB on user demand via TAB-rightclick menu.
What does that mean? I don't understand, could you please explain.helmut wrote:PS: Two "line breakers" have met each other (deus ex and marsh)

No need for another option. We simply have to make the existing ones working properly. I've checked, the option 'One view per image' is broken. I'll post a bug report, here.deus-ex wrote:...

Both of you make line feeds (line breaks) at the end of the text field, even if the sentence/paragraph is not finished. When viewing your texts in a large browser window, this looks a bit unusual. Not a big problem..deus-ex wrote:What does that mean? I don't understand, could you please explain.helmut wrote:PS: Two "line breakers" have met each other (deus ex and marsh)
Oh, so by pure chance i found anotherhelmut wrote:I've checked, the option 'One view per image' is broken. I'll post a bug report, here.

Ah, ok, understood. I'm also using a large desktop resolution (1280x1024) and i find it quiet difficult to read long sentences as they do appear on a large display hence i'm trying to add some readability. If you think i should'nt waste my time with that please let me know, i'm always open to opinions.helmut wrote:Both of you make line feeds (line breaks) at the end of the text field, even if the sentence/paragraph is not finished. I'm afraid the latter, only.Anonymous wrote:Oh, so by pure chance i found anotherhelmut wrote:I've checked, the option 'One view per image' is broken. I'll post a bug report, here.. What do i win? A trip to Florida, a dinner with Pierre, or next RC for free? Tell me...

I understand - I've got a 1280x1024, too. I simply make my window as wide as I want and voilà. If you use line feeds, you don't give people a chance to decide. Not sure what is better, I prefer having the normal line feeds for paragraphs, only.Anonymous wrote:Ah, ok, understood.
