MP 0.38.7 Win: Incorrect font used

Post by Gingerbread Guy »

XNViewMP 0.38.7
Windows 7 x64 (English US)
Note: though the screenshot shows XNViewMP 0.35 x64, I have tested in 0.38.7 x86 and there's no difference.

I originally had this problem with Japanese text. If you'll look at the Japanese text, you'll see XnViewMP doesn't use the appropriate font. Compare with XnView started through AppLocale (because it doesn't support Unicode): the font is the same as in Windows Explorer.

Now I wonder if it's not a problem with text in general. Some of the interface uses Segoe UI (good), while most of it uses Tahoma (bad). Tools > Settings > Thumbnail > Appearance shows MS Shell Dlg 2. That's not an actual font but a font alias. It's not something that should be exposed to the user; it should be mapped to the associated font (i.e. Tahoma).

Where do you have Tahoma?
