Hello !
I just registered to expose you my problem of the day…
I was using xnview 1.91.something until this morning and it was almost fine. The slight problem was that i coulndn't navigate using the "thumbnails" panel, only the tree. A double click on a folder's thumb would crash xn View. But i was aware of it and only used the tree.
I then checked upgrades and saw 1.98.2 was available.
I uninstalled the older and installed 1.98.2.
BUT now, anything almost freezes xnView.
For example, opening "options" brings an empty windows and crashes it all
Navigation impossible, no images shown, etc…
So i reverted back to 1.97.7: same.
I tried to install it somewhere else: same.
I played with Crap Cleaner: same.
Now i am out of ideas… Maybe i need to re-install some 3rd party software ? (for instance .NET, but there was an update recently for 7…)
Someone has an idea ?
EDIT: in fact, even simply closing the "tip" window at startup freezes it !

Re: Serious problems win Win7 64 : total crash
OK I found it: there was obviously some seriously corrupt file in the "users/…/AppData/XnView" folder. I've deleted the whole folder and re-installed 1.98.2 with success. Don't know what happened: something must have gone wrong when uninstalling the 1st time…
Maybe this will help someone with the same behaviour.
