Bug Tracker

Post by sergo »

Do you really find more convinient to track the bugs with the forum rather than use some bug tracker software?
I'm sure you know it yourself, I found this message - http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.p ... 413#p61413 . Some sort of bugtracker would be very helpful for you and for users.
Thank you for your programs.

bug tracker system is not easy for basic user...
Or each time that a bug is found, i need to create a new ticket (not the user)??

No, of course not you. I thought XnView users are smart enough to cope with bug tracker interface... Additionally it shows how much user is eager to report a bug - if he/she overcomes this little barrier to master bugtracker interface then this bug is really worth attention :) It was a joke :)

I think main reason against bugtracker is that users will continue to post bugs here at forum so you'll have to consider both sources, so instead of make life easier bugtracker just adds complexity.

I think its a shame the XnView doesn't have a public bug tracker. Also, assuming the the users are able to use a tracker is ....

Personally I would prefer to use a bug tracker than a forum.

Also, it's true that a tracker would add some kind of barrier, but it's not a big one and it's beneficial, it will, hopefully, prevent dummy users from entering bag bugs reports.

BTW, I found an ugly bug and reported it to the wrong tracker http://code.google.com/p/conemu-maximus ... ail?id=453
