Contact sheet sizes

Hello,
I'm a new user who found this program through Google because I have to make a lot of contact sheets fairly soon, & did not have a program to do it.
However, I find it very difficult to get the size and format I want, with a contact sheet size option only in pixels. My pictures are 300 dpi; I don't know what the contact sheet's default is, and although I did the math with pixels x size at 300 dpi, & entered what ought to give me the required 8.5 x 11 page, in the end it came out 10 x 14.
I need an 8.5 x 11 sheet with 6 pictures per page. I've hunted through the myriad tools windows & changed anything I found to inches, but there doesn't seem to be any effect anywhere from that, & I'm stuck. Is there any way to set contact sheet size in inches? If not, how many pixels does your program need for an 8.5 x 11, letter-size, page?

Yes, it's a known issue...

For a 8.5x11 inches at 300 dpi, the pixel size is:
W = 8.5 * 300 = 2550
H = 11 * 300 = 330
