The Google Maps integration is fantastic. Nice to know I do not have to use Picasa to see both the picture and where it was taken. However, the kml file generated for Google earth does not have GPS info. I am on Windows XP SP3. The kml file contents being generated for every picture I have tried is:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><kml xmlns="http://earth.google.com/kml/2.0"> <Folder> <name>Export from XnViewMP</name> <open>1</open> <Placemark> <visibility>1</visibility> <Style> <IconStyle> </IconStyle> </Style> <Point> <extrude>1</extrude> <altitudeMode>relativeToGround</altitudeMode> <coordinates>0.000000,0.000000,300</coordinates> </Point></Placemark></Folder></kml>

Could you send me the picture file that you use?
Pierre.
Re: MP0.39win GPS coordinates not passed to Google Earth
Problem appears to be related to my HP 2133 netbook rather than XnViewMP. Worked successfully on my HP desktop - same OS environment and Google Earth environment.
Re: MP0.39win GPS coordinates not passed to Google Earth
Hi Pierre,
It isn't my HP netbook. The problem is related to having the cache DB enabled. The GPS overlay icon disappearing that has been reported by others is also related.
When I do not have thumbnail caching enabled the GPS overlay icon is always visible and and displaying in Google Earth works properly. When I enable thumbnail caching the GPS icon is visible the first time that I open a picture folder (folder has not been cached yet) and the Google Earth display works properly.
When I open another folder and return to the cached folder the GPS icon is no longer visible on any of the thumbnails. The "Open GPS location in GeoHack..." menu item is greyed out and the kml file created for Google Earth does not have GPS coordinates. The GPS icon and "Open GPS location" functionality returns when I clear the cache DB for the folder. Disabling thumbnail caching has no effect after the pictures are cached - the picture cache has to be cleared. Hope this helps you find and repair the errant code.

Re: MP0.39win GPS coordinates not passed to Google Earth
I can confirm this behaviour on my Netbook (Desktop-PC not tested).
Coordinates (Laditude/Longitude) are not shown in filelist (Details), GPS indicator is not shown.
When I close XnViewMP and delete the xnview.db everything looks fine - until I change the directory and go back.
Same happens when pressing "Save" in the "Edit IPTC/XMP" dialog for that particular picture - or - on pressing "Save all" for all pictures: Coordinates appear until next change directory.
I worked out this only happens when I'm using the "Details"-view (all other views seem to be not affected), which means: I can change the directory in all other views (Icons, Thumbs + Labels, Thumbs + Details, List) and the GPS thingy still works!
Changing the directory in detailed view (and all GPS data seem to have gone) and then I choose another view (with Thumbnails), the GPS indicator appears again, also "Open GPS location in GeoHack..." is not longer greyed. Going to the "Details" view, then even the coordinates are shown again ... as long ... as I'm not changing to another folder and back (in "Details" view)
.
Btw: When trying to clear the Cache, "Delete all" does not work for me (at least not in the expected way), no directory entry will be removed. I have to click on each entry and press "Delete"!?
Disabling the cache does not have any effect (I also disabled "Import XMP subject or IPTC keywords to DB categories"), XnViewMP still writes "something"(?) to the xnview.db, which seems to cause the trouble.
My temporary solution: Read-only attribute for my "xnview.db" (after clearing the cache), this fixed the problem.
I'm running XnViewMP 0.39 on Win7 Home Premium (SP1, 32bit, German), all config/ini files are stored in the XnViewMP application directory. (XnView 1.98.2/1.98.5 does not show this behaviour
)
