.KRO format

Post by MrPano »

It is said that XnView reads and writes .kro files (http://www.xnview.com/en/formats.html) But I keep getting the message over and over again no matter what file I try to open:

Format of the file <filename.kro> could not be determined
For display of less common format, the falling option is available:
Options>General>[x]Display all image file type

Even after I activate the option, I still get the same error message.
Is is true that XnView really opens and writes .kro files or it's just a plain exaggeration of features?

If not, is there any other software that can open and write .kro files?

Thank you!

Right, according to the list of supported formats the Kolor Raw Format (KRO) files should be readable and writable. Which program has been used for writing the KRO files?

Note:
Info in FAQ 'Does XnView support graphic format .xyz?' might be interestesting.

The files are 10Gb to 200Gb autopano giga .kro files. I want to open them in XnView to slice them into tiles, convert them to .PSD so I can edit them in photoshop and then re-merge the tiles again in XnView into a single .kro file. XnView seemed perfect for the job with its reading/writing capability, but I can't get XnView to open neither files smaller or larger. It seems that the software doesn't recognize the format. Any suggestions?

When you save them in AutoPano, which settings for format 8, 16 or 32bits?

I saved them in 8 bits, because of their large size. 16 or 32 Bits would increase the total size hugely.
