Problem positioning the 'Adjust Brightness...' window

Post by KrisR »

Hi,
I'm running a computer with two displays each of which has a separate graphics card. Display 1 is driven by ASUS EN8600GT and is designated as the main display.
Display 2 is driven by ASUS ENGT240. OS is Win7 SP1. I'm using the most recent NVIDIA drivers, nv285.62_win7_64bit.
When I open a picture for editing with the main XnView window on display 2 and open the Adjust brightness... window (Ctrl+E), the Adjust window positions itself right in the middle of the display and thus usually hides the main motif of the picture. Then I have to click and drag the Adjust window out of the way in order to edit. Furhtermore XnView does not remember the position of the Adjust window, so I have to do this every time.
This is very annoying.

The strange thing is that if I move the main XnView window over to display 1, the Adjust window is positioned next to the picture, if the picture is small, and in the upper right hand corner, if the picture fills the whole window. I suppose this is the intended behavior, and this is fine with me. Makes editing much more convenient.

But the the question is: Why this erronous behavior on display 2?
