Search on IPTC tags

Post by begaz »

I select a folder to view all files recursively.
Then using the quick search i retreive all files contening my request in any IPTC tags and in any sub-folder.
But using normal seach (ctrl-F) to choose what kind of IPTC tags i want to search XnView return no files.
The same request on a specific folder works.

I use XnView MP 0.39 on Linux.

Otherwise thank you for that very good version, specially for linux users.

First i select the folder contening the tag "Justin". The screenshot is "capture d'écran 1.jpg"
Then, the same search on the parent folder open in recursive mode. File "capure d'écran 2.jpg".
Note that there are no images in that parent folder.

I copy the image in that parent folder and the search return only the copied image.

I hope that could help you.

Sorry, it's not a bug.
I just see that there is a recurcive box and it's not checked !!
The problem is that i have selected the folder to display in recurcive mode and all the thumbnails are displayed for all files in all sub-directories, the quick search find immediatly the correct file. So i think that the search request (ctrl-F) works the same way, that is on all images displayed.

If i can make a suggestion : in that situation pre-check the recurcive box when displaying the search panel, it's probably more user friendly.

I beg your pardon, excuse me.

This also means that the search criteria are checked in all new research!
