Hi,

Sorry, but is this issue supposed to be fixed ? I don't understand the "no need to be fixed".

- open XnviewMP 1.0
- within the browser select a folder with different format of files or images.
- type "jpg" in the Quick search field -> only jpeg images displayed
- open one of these image in viewer
- use arrows to scroll to the next images.

Sooner or later viewer will display a no jpeg image from the folder :bug: . Viewer should only display the images shown in the browser !

Thanks for listening !

This problem is supposed to be fixed in XnView MP 1.4.3. Please check and confirm the bug fix here.

Just tried it out and seems to be fixed. Thank you so much.

EDIT: I still had Video show-in-preview unchecked (workaround mentioned earlier in this thread). I marked it again. Videos are not in the browser thumbnail view, but are still being shown while scrolling through individual images. So, not fixed...?

Not the same problem right? 'show in preview' is used when opening a tab

So sorry, I'm confused.

I opened this thread because I was getting media other than what is filtered to be shown in browser view. In my case only images were being shown in browser view. When I double-clicked an image there to open in new tab as a single image, then using the arrows to scroll through I was also getting other media, including videos.

I thought the suggestion to uncheck video preview was a workaround to get rid of the videos when scrolling through the single images? I did not understand the comment about not needing to be fixed though.

So you are stating I need to keep the video preview setting unmarked? Then when I do want videos in the browser view, I will have to go back and change this setting again, right?

Hello,

AppyFace is not the only one to be confused... I also don't understand the comments.

And I regret to say that the video issue is not fixed. Filtering with "images only " will remove videos in browser mode but the video will still show up in viewmode. User don't want this behaviour !! As already said/asked several times:

Viewmode should only display the files listed in browser mode.

I may be wrong but I think that the issue viewtopic.php?f=95&t=44539&p=184418
strongly relates with this one.

Thanks for listening

Hello,

Even if the video issue is not solved I would like to report that 1.4.3 has fixed a least one issue concerning the browser/viewer synchronization problems:

Viewer now takes into consideration the "quick search" filtering.

Thanks !

Just tried it out and seems to be fixed. Thank you so much.
Sorry but i don't understand if your original problem is always here...

ok, but it's this bug that was fixed
- open XnviewMP 1.0
- within the browser select a folder with different format of files or images.
- type "jpg" in the Quick search field -> only jpeg images displayed
- open one of these image in viewer
- use arrows to scroll to the next images.
If you don't want video files in 'edit mode', you have 'settings>View>show video'.

This is still a problem in v1.7.1

I'm confused as to whether the programmer believes this is actually a problem.

Bottom line, one should not have to go into the settings for something that should be handled by the filter.

this topic can be closed

changes have been made in 1.5.5 (Browser>Filter by & Image viewing filtering):
- Browser and Viewer filelists have been separated
- Viewer filelist filter can be adjusted in Settings>View>Filter

if you have any suggestion - make separate topic

I'm the OP. I'm still really unsure what is "fixed", what isn't "fixed", what is "no need to be fixed". It's an old thread so I've gone back through it from my opening post and re-read all the comments.

I guess I was looking for/hoping for whatever is being shown in the browser view, to synchronize with the single image view when scrolling.

Instead there seems to be various things to tick and untick whether it's another image type not in the filter, a video, or something else.

It doesn't matter to me what the final design is, as long as it behaves consistently so I know what to expect. Can you elaborate about the separate lists?

Kind regards.

I mean it's possible to filter Viewer filelist separately OR make it follow Browser's one (your case)
appyface wrote: Sat Apr 02, 2022 3:47 pm Is it possible to limit the single view to scrolling through only the list of files from the browser view?
set 'Like Browser' in Settings>View>Filter
