I know everyone likes X264 but if it can't be used in VirtualDub what use is it?
AMD Ryzen 3 3300X 3.8Ghz, 16Gb DDR4, RX6600XT with Dell U2520D at 2560x1440@60Hz scaling 125%
Win11 x64 24H2, Hard Disk Sentinel Pro, MS PowerToys, Process Lasso Pro and Wintoys

Well, if you use VirtualDub, then I guess it is pretty useless.
But if you use a different front-end, like VisualHub for example, it is the best choice.
Always depends on the front-end, that is... but that's just my 2 cent. ;)

I just linked to the installer so that you could use it in virtualdub!
