Sticky resize mode in view

I figure I should ask here before making a request for a feature that might already exist. :p Is there a way to set the resize mode in view mode, and have it stick, at least until the tab is closed, instead of resetting to default when you move on? Currently I have to keep going to the options and back to change it.
