comparing images from different directories

Post by sergo »

is it possible to compare images from different directories? It's impossible to select images in different directories, I've tried with tagging, but with no success.
It would be better to compare images already opened in tabs. Are they some ways to do it?

ok, i've found the way
i've created new category "comparing", now i'm moving images from different folders to that category and comparing them:)

but comparing images in opened viewer tabs would much better solution:)

Open two (or more) pictures in seperate tabs and then choose from menu 'window' -> 'tile vertically'.
Is it that what you mean with comparing in viewer tabs?

no:)
there is a command 'compare' in the tools menu. but it compares only selected or tagged images, and there's no way to select or tag images in different folders. afaik:)

Do you mean with linked Zooming and Panning between the 2 opened tabbed windows?
That could be interesting indeed...

Yes, i have been thinking of this too. It would replace the compare window.

I would like the following features:
1) Should not be restricted to 2 windows / tabs
2) Linking could be absolute or relative. Relative means there is f.e. one tab with image at 70% which shows upper right corner of image and another tab which shows center of second image at 30%. If zoom / pan is linked relative, zooming in one step would result in zoom factors 80% and 40%. Right now, this is not possible in compare window.
3) fast graphics, perhaps hardware accelerated with directx / opengl? (should become standard)
